Literature Text

The old woman's thoughts were riotous
As she watched the rugged coast
Pass her window
They rattled and clanked,
Tarnished silver dreams
Knocked and crashed against
Tin memories that jostled to the fore

They'd held hands that morning
A blush of pink coloring the eastern sky
As the waves curled in and kissed the rocks
Spray tossed in the wind and put drops of gold in his hair
And he laughed; a pure peal in counterpoint to the cry of gulls
Then caught her up and kissed her deep and true
And promised forever as a curlew called

But silver dreams turn to tin and forever love grows cold
In the harsh light of day
Still, years past, her mind turns to the day she heard the curlew call
And arms strong and true held her
If you've an inclination….her mind whispered
Shush, she muttered to herself
And pulled down the shade
This is my personal attempt at a random word challenge; my words were: shush, curlew, and inclination.
This is a bit different than my usual so any comments are welcome!

A fine job indeed...with great imagery.
